Modular, Collective, Affordable Housing

Housing insecurity is one of the key underlying stressors for low-income communities, and is connected to crime and incarceration as both a cause and effect. These proposals for a vacant site in Brownsville explore a "product-based" approach to Affordable Housing offering a new path to home ownership. A Modular Kit of Parts (to be customized via co-design with local residents) is used to build Collective (Baugruppen-type) Housing on land managed by Community Land Trusts.
